News from Liquid Control Limited

GRAY & ADAMS  28 Jun 2011

Liquid Control Ltd, a UK based company, has been a leader in the design and manufacture of resin processing machines for almost 40 years.

They design and manufacture precision single and multiple component resin mixing systems, where each component is independently metered to an accuracy of better than +/- 0.5%  and mixed through suitable in line mixers.

The pump technology used needs to cater for the wide range of demanding applications and materials to be processed. The product range that LCL offers incorporates both piston and gear pump metering technologies and machines are selected subject to the customer’s specific requirements.  The piston pump being LCL’s original patented Posiload “positive displacement pump” has a proven track record in many thousands of machines world wide.

LCL’s diverse standard product range is supplemented with the capability to custom build using their own 3D design studio, ensuring quality of design and easy integration with other production facilities if required.

As a manufacturer of standard and bespoke equipment, LCL can offer the total package for resin mixing equipment solutions across a diversity of industries from tiny electronic component manufacture to construction industry, aerospace to marine industry, wind turbine to solar power, F1 racing cars to truck container manufacture.   LCL are proud to have had an ongoing, active, customer base with many world leading Blue Chip companies  including GRAY and ADAMS, a relationship which goes back 30 years.

GRAY and ADAMS have, for more than 50 years, designed and manufactured bespoke temperature-controlled and other specialist transport equipment resulting in a build quality that can only come from experience offering its’ customers long-term peace of mind

Their philosophy has always been that if a customer’s request is possible to engineer, they can build it!
Since being established in 1957 in Fraserburgh, Scotland, Gray & Adams has grown substantially and now consists of four well established manufacturing sites within the UK and Ireland. Since the founding of the company, Gray & Adams has evolved as a manufacturer, evidenced by the vast product range and bespoke capabilities.

Traditionally, the core product portfolio included a complete range of temperature-controlled trailers, supplying most of the supermarket chains in the UK for transporting chilled food products, also rigid and intermodal vehicles and twin deck trailers now make up a large proportion of production. Market demand has also prompted Gray & Adams to diversify the product range to include refrigerated storage solutions, insulated side access loading trailers and mobile shop facilities.

As Gray and Adams expanded so did their need for reliable, accurate and robust resin mixing equipment for two important applications.  Firstly, to bond together the trailers composite side panels which consist of a fibre glass outer and inner skins with insulating blocks between. Individually these three sections have little strength but bonded together they create the integral strength of the trailer combined with light weight, which is vital for today’s energy efficient transport. The second application is to structurally bond together the sides, fronts backs and tops to the base carrier. Liquid Control’s resin mixing equipment has played an important role over many years ensuring the Gray and Adams trailers are successfully structurally bonded together to withstand the pounding of thousands of miles of road travel, but nevertheless, still delivers food products safely and at the required temperature.

LCL’s Operations Director, Doug Bridgeman said “Gray and Adams have a reputation for quality which is the envy of their competitors, and Liquid Control are proud to be associated with a company that places such a high value on the quality of their products. Knowing that a customer with such high standards, has seen fit to continue to purchase our equipment over all these years, can only be good for our reputation as well, and we look forward to continuing to supply our resin processing machines to support them as they strive to raise the bar still higher”.      if Gray and Adams would like to make any comment we could quote LCL would be grateful)
